spectacle

Sundance's Spectacle with Elvis Costello is a great spin on a talk show. Elvis gets to perform songs we'd never normally hear, for which we should feel special. I'm surprised how intimate it feels - the little theatre look is great. I just watched the Loudon Wainright episode; he's all old Hollywood handsome in a white dinner jacket. I think he's adorable, but I wish he'd just shut his trap. He writes beautiful songs, he can sing. But man, he sounds like a pompous fag and I mean that in a good but irritating and childish way.

Back to Elvis. Keep em coming. I can't wait for the episode with She & Him, Jenny Lewis and Jakob Dylan. Oh, and his mama Diana is interviewing him. That should be fun.
